Danielle and I are at Search Engine Strategies this week. I have been completely unplugged (since my Blackberry keeps dying) and am just now getting a chance to check in. I just went to download my email and there are almost 2,000 since Monday (ugh). This is Danielle’s first SES and she is really loving it and getting a lot out of it.

Monday night was the IMNY Charity Party and Greg let me know that we were able to raise over $5,000 to help out the Ronald McDonald House. On top of that, so many people told me that it was the best party they have ever attended at a conference - not the fanciest but just a great vibe all night. Check out Greg’s recap here.

I have only been to a few sessions and they were okay - I have been spending most of my time networking and making a lot of good contacts (way more important then the sessions). Also - I have had so many people ask me why am I not speaking - truthfully I never really thought about it but perhaps at one of the upcoming shows I will.

Last week I did a quick interview with Kevin Newcomb (who I got to meet Monday night) for Search Engine Watch about whether or not social media marketing is a natural progression for search marketers (for good ones - it is). Check out the article: Why Are Search Marketers Getting Social?

Once I get back (can’t believe it’s only Wednesday) I’ll do a full recap of the conference and give you my most important takeaways.
