I totally think that Yahoo could leverage its acquisitions to make itself the social king.

Structure definitely looks like a hurdle. Once they overcome these obstacles, I think it would be a lot easier and they would do much better.

I’m confident in Yahoo’s offerings. I use many of these acquired properties. I want to see them come out of this a winner.

The MyBlogLog purchase was savvy, and Yahoo’s roots are ’social media’, so I look for them to concentrate on that area for awhile.

It just seems like Yahoo’s internal corporate structure makes it difficult for them move quickly. It’s hard to get such a large beast to pounce, rather than lumber along.

I agree, which is why I pointed out that Yahoo still has its strengths. I think there is potential in Yahoo. In fact, today I found out about TagMaps which was a product of Yahoo Research Berkeley. It looks like pretty cool stuff.

The reports of Yahoo’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Thanks Mark Twain. If it’s true that it is all about diversification, Yahoo is doing well.

Rather than dwell on the mistakes, they’ve chosen to reorganize. Semel’s much-touted ‘laser-like’ focus was off the mark, and everyone, even Semel, seems to have realized that.

Where are all the reports about Ask’s demise after that damning Comscore report?
